![]() ![]() This editor uses the Java virtual machine and installs on any system that. A fine program like TextWrangler can edit binary. Just drop it into the 'Language Modules'. Everybody else thinks TextWrangler is, well, just a basic text editor. System administrators and Unix gear-heads love the vi- and Emacs-like features in TextWrangler’s sweet graphical interface. (I guess it has something to do with the fact that the xml document more or less is printed on a single, very long line. ![]() On my iBook G4 1.33 MHz 700 MB it took about 50 seconds to open a simple Mellel document in Smultron. Since this was a small pain, I thought I'd share it in case there's any other mac users out there who would find this useful. TextWrangler can replace every instance of the old name with the new one. The xml file can be quite large, also for very simple document, and it can take quite some time to open it in a text editor. A PList file, like Mankoff said, is just a specially formatted XML file. I converted Bale's syntax highlighting xml file for Notepad++ to a 'codeless language module' property list for TextWrangler. ![]()
